Background

This painting, titled “Before the storm,” is based on a moment I captured last year in Knokke, 2024. I was there for an exhibition at the Grand Casino. On a Saturday evening, my friends and I were walking along the boulevard when I was struck by the dramatic contrast: dark clouds against the white beach cabins. The warm sand meeting the cool gray sea, it was a memory I knew I had to paint.
