Landscapes & Seascapes

My Landscapes and Seascapes:
Nature`s Beauty Captured

I love painting beautiful, vibrant landscapes and seascapes that truly capture the natural world. For centuries, artists have painted landscapes, and it’s still a super popular subject today.

We’ve all watched those Bob Ross videos, right? And we were always amazed how he could just transform a blank canvas into a vivid image with mountains, trees, and a beautiful stream, just with some simple paint strokes. That was a pure inspiration for me. Even though I use a different technique, I still catch myself thinking, “Maybe I should use some VanDyke Brown,” or “Maybe a squirrel lives in that tree,” just like Bob would say.

How I Work

My process for landscapes and seascapes is much like my other work. Each painting starts with two base layers of colored gesso. Then, I sketch out a composition, often inspired by a photograph (though sometimes I sketch intuitively) using pencil or charcoal. After the initial sketch, I apply the first layer with mixed acrylic paints. Finally, I add multiple layers of water-soluble oil paint until I’m happy with the result. I work on various surfaces like canvas, canvas on panel, wooden panels, or high-quality oil paint paper.

Want Your Own View? Commission a Landscape or Seascape

Do you have a specific place that’s special to you? A breathtaking view from a memorable trip, your favorite beach, or a serene spot in nature? I can bring that memory to life on canvas.

Commissioning a landscape or seascape allows you to have a personalized piece of art that holds deep meaning for you. It’s a fantastic way to preserve a cherished moment or a beloved location in a unique, artistic way.

Just like my other paintings, this commissioned piece will be colorful, energetic, and layered, reflecting my signature style and your unique memory. And of course, 2% of the proceeds from your commissioned painting will be donated to the Alzheimer Stichting.

If you’d like to turn your special view into a lasting artwork, feel free to contact me to discuss your ideas.
